The Broward Partnership is committed to reducing homelessness by promoting independence and self-worth through advocacy, housing and comprehensive services. To achieve this mission, the Partnership operates the Broward County Central Homeless Assistance Center/Huizenga Campus, a 57,000 square foot, 230-bed emergency homeless shelter situated on 2.7 acres near downtown Fort Lauderdale. In addition to emergency shelter, clothing and three nutritious meals a day, the Partnership’s service approach highlights alternatives to living on the street and provides each resident with the tools to reacquire health, housing and employment in a safe and nurturing environment.
Families with children continue to be one of the fastest growing segments of the homeless population, with an increasing number living on the streets, in cars or other unsafe accommodations. This year the Partnership expanded its campus to accommodate an additional 30 beds for homeless single mothers with children, helping to get more families off the streets and into safe, stable housing as quickly as possible. To date, Broward Partnership for the Homeless has served 20,000 homeless men, women and children in Broward County, providing them with the opportunity to help achieve dignified independence and rebuild their lives. 100% of the funds of this year’s event will go toward the Partnership’s Family Services Program, which provides critically needed services and support for homeless families with children who reside on our campus. We hope you will help us by making a donation that will have an impact for homeless families in need.
